Hi folks. After waiting quite some time to get the parts I was looking for, I was finally able to build a good old 440bx based system to tinker with. Unfortunately It's 5:23AM here and I have no camera right now so I promise to upload proper pics later on ^^;
The rig consists of the following parts:
ASUS P3B-F V 1.04
Unmodded Tualatin 1400-S SL6BY running at 1.57 (150x10.5) on an Upgradeware Slot-T adapter
Originally 1gb of 7,5ns PC133 CAS 2 ram but using a single 256MB 7ns stick at PC150 CAS 2-2-2-4 instead.
Canopus Spectra X21 with SSH-HDTV daughterboard for better 2d quality (Geforce3 Ti500 based)
2x IO/DATA Voodoo2 12 MB cards (98mhz)
Brand new Matrox M3D which I bought about a year ago
AWE64 Gold while I try to find a non PNP CT3900 AWE32-
1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3 with a JM20330 based adapter and a single 127GB partition for Win98SE
Delta 300W PSU
Black Maxdata full tower case (needs repainting and proper rewiring)
The main purpose of this system is to have a single platform capable of running mid 90's to early 2001 3D titles with a broad compatibility range and consistent framerate under all possible APIs, including statically-linked-Glide and SGL games 😀
I will proceed to post some screenies and a few benchmarks I ran on the meantime:
At 133 FSB, with 1GB 7.5ns Cas 2-2-2-8 RAM / At 150 FSB, with 256MB 7ns Cas 2-2-2-2 RAM
Voodoo2 SLI, 98Mhz / Spectra X21
More to come in the next days. Feel free to make any suggestions 😀
Cheers
