Frankly, I'm lost, I don't know what could it be, I'll describe the situation and maybe you guys with more experience know what's it.
-Sometimes the boot process freeze, most of the time is a logical sequence like, 1 boot works, next will fail, then next works, then next fails.
-It nevers ask for scandisk.
-At random freezes, the HDD led is on all the time, sometimes not.
-comparing the bootlog.txt, most of the times it freeze after "LoadSuccess = C:\WINDOWS\IFSHLP.SYS " is recorded
-sometimes on bootlog.txt it freeze near to the end of the boot process (But it's not common)
-Memtest86 says this ram is ok
-Scandisk says there's no badblocks.
-the hdd is connected on the same cable that the dvd-rom is connected.
-It never freeze when booting in safe mode
-Ethernet Disabled didn't made any effect
-Spread spectrum (0,6% down) made the system unbootable (coudn't reach the bios), only turning the computer out of enough I could reverse to disabled
-Spread Spectrum (0,6% ctr) didn't changed anything
-This processor overclocked made the system much more unstable, it would corrupt the MBR, some times it would result in corrupted files or even make random crashes when installing softwares, but the system was fine when downclocked (pentium mmx233 [3.5*66] to [2.5*100]) (the ram is a PC133 and the mb supports a FSB up to 133, so I don't see a problem about them, but the oc may have caused the increased chance of the problem happen
-hardly ever the bios freeze ( after Detecting the Ide guys)
I already tried many things, but it wasn't ram refresh timing, this shadow things, Os reinstall, ide cable change, hdd change, the only thing I didn't was test another mb and another processor (because I don't have another one)
So, any tip?
