I think I'm doing something wrong but I'm not sure. Is speedsys slow? I've noticed the last few times I tried it with a 386 and 486 when it's benchmarking it goes up 3% at a time and it just seems slow also when reading the memory it takes at least 2-3 mins to go all the way. Is this normal? On this board when I use cachechk it tells me it's fake cache and it also says Memory at 2mb all the way up to 16mb is running slow and I tried a 40mhz AMD and it displays 35mhz in speedsys when I tried a TI 40mhz it displays 13MHZ, when I tried the Intel 33DX it shows about the same score. The other thing I noticed is the TI cpu seems to get really hot to the touch is that unusual? to me the chipset seems to run hot as well after running for a few mins. This board is a GA-386ES, is that a typical speedsys score for this kind of 386? With this board I have to put a jumper on 39 on 2-3 which is the turbo switch I think to make it faster if I put the jumper at 1-2 or take it off it reads 26mhz instead of 35mhz. The bios on this is pretty plain not very much in there for settings.

Speedsys is just one benchmark.

I've put together a benchmark floppy disk for 386 machines and some results to compare here: http://www.philscomputerlab.com/386-dos-benchmarks.html

Just follow the link. Should give you a better idea of where your machine sits.
