Before i close old tabs in browser...
A story how i discovered an unknown GUS clone 😀
i read one not so interesting topic about ISA Sound Card:

Yes, typical low-end late ISA sound card with SB16 compatible ALS100 main chip and Crystal/Dream wavetable chip. Nothing special. Only FCC ID: MA5ASOUND APPROVED printed on circuit board.
I googled for company name and found this:
https://fccid.io/MA5ASOUND
D&B International Computer Inc
MA5ASOUND 1996-06-06 Sound Card
still nothing interesting. But when i clicked for other MA5 applications i found this:
MA5ULTRAPROMISE 1995-11-29 Sound Card
https://fccid.io/MA5ULTRAPROMISE
Wut??? ULTRAPROMISE?
It is name photoetched on GUS clone with BIOS socket.

I googled and found this ebay auction:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tango-100-ISA-Sound … N-/282187269600
Same MA5ASOUND card from original Vogons thread. Now with name.
Name is ASOUND Tango 100 Wavetable. Tango 100 because ALS100 chip? maybe.
Interesting is CMC logo at manual and install floppy disc. C.M.C. means Computer - Multimedia - Components.
Photographed manual is in German language.
CMC is the only logo. Nothing about D&B od ASOUND.
ok, no we have three company names for searching:
1. CMC
2. ASOUND
3. D&B International Computer Inc.
google is my friend again
1. i found CMC computer multimedia components trademark here:
http://oz.kurzy.cz/br/cmc-computer-multimedia … -p1197995zo.htm
https://www.firminform.de/unternehmen/CMC-Com … uenchen/2113190
Logo is different from ebay auction but name is same. It was trademark from Germany and lived from 1999 to 2000. OK for ISA ALS but too late for GUS cards. Not interesting
2. Searched for Asound and found this:
http://www.made-in-china.com/showroom/dgasound
ASONIC? Fourth name for same thing 😀 . We are on right way. Asound/Asonic is listed as sound card manufacturer. Full name is Asound International Computer Inc.
http://www.globalsources.com.hk/si/AS/Asound- … 74/Homepage.htm
Established in 1994 - good timing for GUS clones.
3. D&B International Computer Inc
http://www.globalsources.com/si/FL/D/60088005 … 42/Homepage.htm
D&B article with (dead) link to Asonic catalogue http://www.asonic.com.cn/AsoundCatalog.pdf
Link is dead but heurera!, we have URL of ASOUND company. And confirmed D&B = Asound = Asonic
http://www.adrforum.com/domaindecisions/198925.htm
- dispute about http://www.asound.com domain
i googled for "www.asonic.com.cn". Uninteresting results about linux drivers for BT878 tv cards. And post from 2007 with dead link to 4channel soundcard. Before 10 years company still existed.
Last chance is Archive.org.
A browsed archived pages with links to all three domain and found interesting results:
http://web.archive.org/web/20020806051913/htt … onic.com.cn:80/
http://web.archive.org/web/20011211203140/htt … ish/english.htm

http://web.archive.org/web/19970112045931/htt … .tw/d&b-drv.htm
Asound,com was redirected http://dnb.com.tw

multi I/O, RAM-based 16-bit Sound Card
YES, YES, YES, it must be GRAVIS ULTRASOUND clone. And multi IO because IDE BIOS? Probably yes.
Since 1995, The FM Music Synthesizer - ASONIC series, FM Music Synthesizer Cards and RAM-based 16-bit Multimedia Wavetable Synthesizer Cards have been at the forefront of helping computer users with all types of specifications.
New info. "Asonic" is not name for GUS card but for newer FM cards.
RAM-based 16-bit Multimedia Wavetable Synthesizer Card - 100% GUS clone, but what? Still same PCB or different?
Asonic.oom.cn website is archived by archive.org from 2001. So late.
http://www.dnb.com.tw is archived from 1997. Much better.
But from product section, there is no info about GUS card. Only FM ALS based, some Waveblaster modules and some IDE controllers. VLB controllers are included but GUS from same time isnt.
http://web.archive.org/web/19970618064029/htt … :80/s-card.html - ALS based
http://web.archive.org/web/19970412114603/htt … 0/catalogs.html - ALS based
http://web.archive.org/web/19970618064043/htt … tw:80/wtdc.html - waveblaster modules
http://web.archive.org/web/19970618064057/htt … .tw:80/ioc.html - IDE cards
but in DRIVERS section:
http://web.archive.org/web/19970112045931/htt … .tw/d&b-drv.htm
UltraWave
gf1win95.exe Setup program for UltraWave(Self-extracting), Size: 13MB, Date: 08/10/96. Driver for Windows 95.
WE GOT HIM
Yes, they sold GUS clone under name UltraWave
Sadly i can t found more info.
Nothing about BIOS and card specifications.
Company logo:

that's all what i found
