Hi,

I'm trying to find two fans to replace the ones in my AGP Voodoo 5500. One of the fans isn't working and for now I just wish to replace the fans, I will keep the coolers. The problem is the only ones I can find with the right connectors (mini 3 pin???) are these ones:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/281487589329

They are the most expensive of the 40mm fans available on ebay 🙁 All the other 40mm fans I can find have different connectors that don't fit the ones in the card.

Anyone know where I can find some cheaper ones?

Thanks

What about this one plus your cheaper fans plus a bit of soldering?

That's way too expensive for a little fan.

Try this one or this one from eBay instead. While I haven't personally tried them myself, they should fit the V5.

Or 3 of these:

and two of these:

And one of your motherboard's fan connectors. 😈

You could try searching for the same fan by another seller on eBay:

Those ARE good fans--I'd buy them for my own if I had one.

@KT7AGuy @tayyare Thanks! But I don't have any soldering skills, I would probably just solder my fingers together 😀 And those connectors are different from the ones on the Voodoo card.

@Logistics That search brings down the price to 5 eur for fan, down from 15, plus 10 eur of shipping. That's 25 eur... Are they really that different from the chinese ones that are sold from 1 eur?

You guys are crazy. I would give the 5500 the royal treatment. I cheap on a lot of things, but I never cheap on fans.

I plan to get two of these for it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Noctua-A-Series-NF-A4 … =item43d20d6a30

Also, what is the point of powering the fan via the board? Why not just plug them straight into your motherboard?

Can recommend two V3 heatsinks and a 120mm fan:

I always thought the Voodoo 5 fans looked a lot like the Pentium Pro fans. Does anyone know if they are the same?

There are many Socket 8 coolers. Probably used 50-60mm fans.

I know, and It does not matter. The second option I suggested (3 of those and two of these) contains splitters for motherboard fan sockets. So you can connect the new fans directly to your mobo instead of the card itself.
