I have this board up and running and it performs better than i ever expected since it uses a sis chipset (always prefer intel boards). Comparing it with my Asus tx97-e board it is just as fast or even a tiny bit faster in every test i did (cpu, memory and voodoo1 3dmark tests). For an intel mmx cpu the tx97-e beat every single non-ss7 board i have tested so far so for this one to be on par/even faster was a surprise.
This board has 64mb edo and the tx97-e has sdram so that might make a difference (both 64mb, tightest timings). I will test the tx with edo and see how that goes.
anyway, there is one strange issue with the sis board: it does not use the 3x multi when used with a mmx cpu, nomatter what i try. 2x, and 2.5 multi is all it does. at first i tought it was simply because of the locked 166mmx i used but even with 2 200mmx (3x66) cpu's it simply will not do the 3x multi. It DOES work with a Cyrix and a k6-2!!
Any suggestions? Never saw this before on any board 😵
