I've been fiddling around with my FIC VA-503+ (Award BIOS) lately, and I noticed that changing the "Plug and Play OS" BIOS setting to "Yes" has an effect on the AWE64 initialization routine.
First of all, I'm unsure whether to keep this setting on "Yes" or "No." I'm using 98SE, so I assume that "Yes" is correct?
When it is set to "Yes," the init says "Successfully configured 2 of 3 Creative Plug and Play Devices."
When it is set to "No," 3 of 3 devices are configured (this is an AWE64 Value with no IDE port).
What are the devices, and which one gets left out with a Plug and Play OS?
I usually just use a DOS boot disk when I want to play DOS games, so is there any issue with leaving Plug and Play OS set to "No" all the time? Thanks!
