The classic SSI Forgotten realms Goldbox games are now available on GOG
as of yesterday sometime. I was quite shocked as they just showed up out
of the blue. Series includes: Eye of the Beholder 1-3, Dungeon Hack,
Menzoberanzan, Pool of Radiance, Curse of the Azure Bonds, Secret of the Silver
Blades, Hillsfar, Gateway to the Savage Frontier, Unlimited Adventures, and I
think one other but I can't think of it right now.

If you've been looking to add these to your collection, don't pass them up.

What is the music / sound support like on these?

MT-32? General MIDI? Does it sound good?

I've never played Eye of the Beholder, but so remember the reviews in the magazines back in the day.

That's a good question, it sounds like I remember but I only had an 8 bit
Soundblaster back then.

EOB and Ishar were awesome but I never managed to get very far into them. I think Startrail was the first game of that style I managed to make serious headway into, and that was one super deep and challenging RPG.

There is something awesomely retro and nostalgic about the EOB series for me though. Perhaps it was the box art. I saw the big box version in Electronics Boutique a few weeks after the game was released and the graphics on the back of the box looked awesome. Then again I only had a BBC Master and Amstrad CPC at home back then.

Thanks for the heads up though.

There is also a humble bundle floating around the internet somewhere and for $10 you get every single Might and Magic game ever made, including the Heroes series. It's a pretty superb deal. My friend bought it, but he didn't link me (I have them all anyways). Every game though, from Dark Messiah to M&M X Legacy etc. I'll try to find the link and post it up.

Here, I think I found the one you were talking about:

They are also on GOG, but to be fair you don't get all the Heroes games as well.
Although I don't see M&M 7-9, although it looks like all the others are there. I heard 9 stinks, though.
