Play EA World Tour Golf in monochrome

I do know I used to play World Tour Golf on a monochrome display, but setting machine=hercules results in no display at all in DOSBox. Any ideas how to make this game run in monochrome? I have had the same problem with some other games recently.

With machine=hercules in DOSBox settings, start the game by running HERCGOLF.BAT, and if you don't have that batch file for some reason then start the game with: GOLF /H
