Hello everyone

Recently I've got my hands on 1995 FMV classic Ripper for Microsoft Windows. The version I have is regular British release published by Gametek.

I've tried installing it on my Lenovo Ideapad with Windows 8.1 on board and playing via DOSbox. Installation and game itself works rather fine, but there's one major issue which makes proper playing rather impossible. Normally I should be able to freely navigate around the game The 7th Guest style as seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WiAaQyfUTo. However the first person display is either completely black or shows only little broken sections of proper view on the top of the screen. But apart from that every other aspect works fine and despite broken view I can still play the game, walk around and chat with other characters.

As I'm not very experienced in dealing with original DOS games (being used to gog.com re-releases) I don't know what can I do to fix it and thus I've decided to seek help here.

I'd be very grateful if anyone would be able to help me 😀

I've never heard of a Windows version of Ripper; on the PC it's for DOS only AFAIK.

Graphics issues in Ripper are often resolved by patching to version 1.05, see here: Ripper - Graphics Issues
