I have a Hercules Terminator 64 DRAM with 2MB equipped. It is the VLB version, which makes it kind of an interesting card since it is one of the few Trio64 based VLB cards out there that is not a Diamond product. I've never really had good luck getting it going. Sometimes it boots fine, but when I tried to load the driver for accellerated graphics the screen is heavily distorted (and the system locks).

I noticed in the driver package there is a diagnostic program. I ran it a few times. Each time it reports testing memory, followed by a garbled screen full of possibly ASCII characters. It seems like it could be a memory problem, but this diagnostic seems kind of useless as it won't actually tell me which IC is bad (unlike the one from ATi). There are 8 surface mounted V53C8256 chips. It would be kind of a bitch to have to replace all of them. Does anyone know if S3 made their own diagnostic utility (I assume the one that came with my driver package is from Hercules).

*edit*
Seems that the Hercules test is actually a relabelled version of s3test. I wonder if there are any flags on it.
