Hi, reposting this from VCF as I'm looking for either the proper version of Softset.exe or some other solution to getting my only 8-bit compatible NIC left working in my Tandy 1000A.

Just did a series of upgrades to my Tandy 1000A, and among them was replacing the NIC with an Intel 8/16 LAN Adapter card.

I'm facing 2 issues with the card

- Softset is not allowing me to configure the card to use Ethernet (RJ45) - instead almost all of the versions I have tried thus far only allow me to select automatic, BNC, or AUI/DIX - no "Twisted Pair" or "Ethernet" or "RJ45" option is listed in any version of softset.exe or softset2.exe (and there is quite a few ranging from December 1991 to August 1995, quite a few, if it had not been for me using the 486 for this, I would have racked up quite some malware with all the weird places I went looking).

- The next issue relates to the above problem - the provided packet drivers work but due to the config issue above either push connectivity to the AUI or non-existent BNC connector on the Ethernet card.

The card previously worked correctly in my 286. I have since put a Linksys Etherfast in there as I need the 8-bit compatibility for the Tandy.

Anybody have the drivers or possibly any idea why this thing is acting up? I'm down to my last 8-bit compatible card for this thing.

Thankfully replacing the failing 540MB HDD to an 8GB HDD on the XT-IDE controller was quick, easy, and without hitch.
