I was testing my new 386 pc, that comes with a am386DX-40 and a PCChips M321 motherboard. Tried some games, but they ran to fast. Hitting the turbo button doesn't slow the pc down. The display switches between 40 and 8 Mhz, but when running a pc system tool, it reveals the clock speed isn't changing.
The motherboard uses a 2 pin header, the turbo switch uses a 3 pin header. Pin 1 = +, Pin 2 = - Pin 3 = +. Now Pin 2 and pin 3 are connected to the board. Do i need to turn the header 180 degree around.

The switch doesn't necessarily switch the clock speed. It probably uses some other trick, like disabling the cache. The display just displays the number that's configured on the display itself, it doesn't mean anything.

Try connecting Pins 1 and 2 instead, though that shouldn't make a difference. Which way around is irrelevant, it's a switch, it's either closed or open.
