Hi guys. So I was thinking I'd start a thread with what wifi atapters have win98 drivers and where you can get said drivers. If you have a wifi card with win98 drivers, please post make/model/chipset and a link to the drivers page, and I'll add it here.

Let me start it off:

Trendnet TEW-423 and TEW-423PI - Marvell Libertas 8335 Chipset - witch means ANY wifi card with this chipset will work on Win98.

Download Link: http://www.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=522863 - I know Driverguide sometimes tries to trick you into installing it's driver sweep software so click on the name of the file to download, not the download button.

The attachment tew-423.JPG is no longer available

I'm using it on my V2 SLi rig (the one in my sig) since I ran out of cables, network ports and space for all the CAT6 wiring I need to hook up all my PC's. The card is a standard 54mbps, but it manages to detect my wireless-n networks just fine and connects with no issues. I'm using an oversized antenna with it so signal strength is awsome. Download speed is 3.44 mb/s and upload speed is 4.27 mb/s . Not too shabby for 54mbps.

Still makes you download their "installer" which is bullshit considering how they relied on the community to build it.

Anyhow, I think we used some Orinoco Gold cards (Dell TrueMobile 1150) on Win98 or WinMe or something back in the day but I don't remember exactly. 😀

Do they support WPA? Any of them come in Mini-PCI format (for laptops)?

Ralink cards used to work with 98, but their site deleted old drivers.
