It has taken me months to realise the link between DOSBox, this forum, and the demoscene and it was 8088 MPH that finally caused the penny to drop. So I figured this is one of the few places on the web it might be worth asking a somewhat obscure question. I had a magazine CD once that had all the entries from a particular scene competition - possibly Assembly '95 or '96 can't recall - and there were some tracks from the 8 or 4 channel compo that I listened to over and over. Then I forgot about them for years and I don't have them anymore and I can't find them!

All I can remember is this one song called "Vote for Me" and the reason for this is that it had lyrics. Anyone recognise it?

"Vote for me
I wanna win that competition
Vote for me
Oh won't you ever stop bitchin'
Vote for me
I wanna win that competition
Vote for me
Uh huh! Uh huh!"

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me out 😀

Haha, I remember VOTE4ME.MOD ! I actually was able to rent(!) some compilation CDs (possibly Hornet Underground?) from our local "Software Library" (aka "Pirate What You Want Emporium") when I was a teenager. 'Vote for Me' was definitely on one of them. Of course I only had a few hundred megabytes of HDD space back then, so keeping full disc rips was out of the question. I haven't heard it in years, but it definitely stuck out. 😎

Get the mod here, along with just about any other scene prod you can think of.

twitch.tv/oldskooljay - playing the obscure, forgotten & weird - most Tuesdays & Thursdays @ 6:30 PM PDT. Bonus streams elsewhen!
