The music needs the SOUND.COM driver, so make sure it is in the game directory and run ADLIB.BAT before running the game. If you don't have the driver then you can get it from vogonsdrivers in the AdLib section. If you don't have the batch file then use the command "sound ba000". The PC speaker sound effects should just work without doing anything special, unless you've toggled them off in the game somehow.
