Hi,
I'm searching for a copy of the Ultim@te Race - 1 Track - PowerVR editon, which seems pretty hard to find.

Here is a ingame video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJKradGC9ao

Anybody knows where I could find a copy of the game? Somebody in this forum owns a copy?

Greetings.

Well, I have uploaded the 3-track version here in case you don't have it : Re: PowerVR Fun Thread

I always hated the misleading box, you would think that they gave full games inside - but no... all you get are a bunch of demos, some times "extended demos" sometimes not... they cheaped out on them 🤣

Thanks Keropi.

This is awesome. Was having a look at the track files and they seem to have the same format like the one from Ultim@te Race Pro. I've been tinkering with the Ultm@te Race Pro executable as a little hobby project, and I think it should be possible to port the Single track into the Ultim@te Race Pro edition to be able to run it in DirectX and Voodoo 2.

Just hope hope somebody still has the 1-track edition somewhere.

Did someone say RaVeNsClaW1989? 😀

EDIT. Looks like he was able to get it. Deleted link.

that link IS warez..... and now I feel ashamed in contributing to that guy's dos port

also unrelated to that link but somewhat, some other hexen 2 warezing guy recently tried to bug me for my site's E107' theme and it woold mean "important to reviving an 20 years old abandonware" no fuck off i've been there tried that years ago (Haktoria ~2008) and there was no interest because the community sits on their thumbs already content with their rips

and now due to this h2 warez leniency, I definitely will NOT contribute colored lighting to HoT. so fucking angry right now

I'm prone to think Raven software is far less ashamed/anxious than leileilol about these things floating around (a.k.a. they don't give a shit 😉 )

What is wrong with sharing stuff?

Mmm, personally I'm not in favor of starting this kind of discussions about things that just aren't worth it and always end in the same way, so I'd rather delete that link to keep things clean. Cheers

Hi, I think this post could be closed, as I've already got the 1-Track and 3-Track version of Ultim@te Race. I've been looking trough the map files, but they are not completely compatible with the Pro edition.
The PowerVR edition tracks use Map file v1.07 format while the Pro edition uses Map file v1.12 version. But the Pro version ships with a lot of dev commands to edit those files, so there is maybe still some possibility to reconvert it to the new format (hopefully). Anyway it's funny how many dev files and unused images and resources from previous versions of the game are still inside of the DATA.BIN file in the Pro version. Actually some dev commands are broken because they require files from the PowerVR edition, but now I have them and they work.

I really don't know what the Warez discussion here is all about as I'm relatively new in this forum. In any way I'm very grateful to those who shared with me the 1-Track and 3-Track editions of Ultim@te Race. It will certainly help me with my little hobby project of modernizing Ultim@te Race Pro (Inspired by what VEG did with Need For Speed III [http://www.zeus-software.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=823]).

I already got plenty of stuff working like play through the internet using TCP/IP, EAX is now compatible with Alchemy, fixed Registry permissions, removed those nasty error messages from the start, and many more.

I'm still far from the end, there are still a lot of things to do with a lot of stuff to learn, but it's a good excuse to dive into the topic of executable assembly, and it feels like a travel trough time to explore all those old API's, , find out where they came from, and how things changed nowadays.

In any case, and as long as it's not considered Warez or anything like that, I can share my progress here on this forum and provide the patches for everyone to enjoy if anybody would be interested in that.

Greetings and thanks again.

In the footer of every page: "This site hosts no abandonware. There is no material that is knowingly illegal here."

For what it's worth, if you want to be as 100% legal as you can, don't distribute game files or binaries when you make a release. Instead, create a patch tool.

Otherwise what I think is what you're doing is very cool. 😀
