Hi, thanks for being so kind to read this newbie stuff.
Is it possible, that dosbox is not connecting to com1? i try to run a configuration-software for my old telephone-set, which needs to be programmed by using com1 on an old computer. it never runs on xp, but in dosbox. now, what is to do for using com1? thank you.

The comport emulation as it stands is for playing multiplayer games over the internet only. It does not use your computer's modem nor does it have any connection to your machine itself. Rather, it simulates a modem so that two DosBox sessions can play old modem games over the internet.
