I was pulling out Autodesk Animator Pro again and trying to see if there was a way to use my graphics tablet for input. Searches didn't turn up much and it looks like no one has talked about it since like 2012 or thereabouts. I have an old Wacom Intuos3 and realized that I might be able to map it via mouse coordinates. Sure enough the control panel application for configuring the tablet has a mode for mapping the pen either to the screen, or like a mouse and thus am able to use it in Animator Pro like a mouse. Might try some old dos games with it.

So check your tablet configuration settings and see if there's a way to map your pen (stylus) to mouse coordinates, you'll be glad you did.
