Today I found an Roland EM-10 for cheap at an local open market (~3$). The case is a bit budged and some plastic from the screw holders is broken, so I bought it because of the price as I also noticed that the internal chip it is using is the same as on SCB-7 and SCB-55, so i thought it wouldnt hurt to buy and experiment some. But it turned out it is compeltely functional and can be used as an MIDI keyboard and Roland Sound Canvas playback device, especially because of the nice 61 key piano keyboard.
I have tested the keyboard midi processor with some Duke Nukem Life is a Beach and to my ear it sounds just like my Sound Canvas SC-50.

So... Does anybody know exactly what sample set is contained with in it 😁 ? If nothing it can easily be used as an standalone MIDI processor:

Thanks guys.

Yeeh 🤣
Some more pictures tomorrow and maybe some recordings too 😀
Its pretty cool really, it is totally compact, uses 12V 500mA rated adapter (I used an 1.5A one), can be atached to external speakers (a bit noisy up close but almost non existant when played louder) and plus has an piano board for recording midi out.

If you still have this unit can you test running the DirectX external synth MIDI test under Windows 98SE using the default DirectX that comes with the install and then trying to play the Canyon MIDI file? My unit will play the MIDI file with odd sounds if this is done so I am wondering if it is my setup or some incompatibility between the unit and my computer. It will play the MIDI file correctly if I do not run the DirectX test first.
