I was trying to understand if after 1998 until the lifetime of the Windows 9x enviroments (98,98SE,ME) which chipset actually really improved 2D GUI acceleration or any new chipset basically could not improve anything cause drivers/features were already at their maximun possibility and only the CPU could show some improvements here and there.
And which known or unknown internal features actually were included to help the os in its tasks from the GPU itself in this era? I understand BitBLT in its time but after that?
