I'm looking for a program, that I can install in config/autoexec boot menu to turn my Pentium into XT or 286, to run older games.
What would be the best choice?

Setmul. I've got a project that uses Setmul to benchmark and record results with various caches disabled. If you're lucky, your Pentium will support test registers which will give it more slowdown options.

However, you won't get a Pentium down to 286 or XT speeds. Typically the slowest they will go is around a 386-25.

My 486DX2-66 CAN get down to slow 286 levels if I reduce memory timings and disable L1 and L2 and use the Turbo button.

See the Disable Caches link in my signature.

The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know.

DOSBox. 🤣

Seriously, when it comes to ancient stuff, I don't see what can be gained from trying to run it on some kind of throttled Pentium.
