Hallo,

I have problem with doom 1 & 2
using VDM 2.0.4. under Win2000 SP2.

I have patch both Programs with cli2nop.

Both Pograms are frozen
on screen at:
I_StartupDPMI()
I_StartupMouse()
I_StartupJoystick()
I_StartupKeyboard()
I_StartupSound()
I_StartupTimer()

Can anywhere help me ?

It looks like you may have your sound misconfigured BUT

Sound Effects do not work for DOOM engine games under Windows 2000. They do work under XP but not as well as they do under REAL Dos.

In any case do no use the original version of Doom. Go here: http://jdoom.newdoom.com/ and download Jdoom. This is a WIN32 (Windows) executable for Doom and provides many graphical/sound/control enhancements and if you really want the "classic" doom experience then just turn 'em all off. 😀
