Anyone want to help me complete my collection?

The attachment Torn.jpg is no longer available

Is the Roland CM-32L really as rare as it seems? I've been looking for one for an affordable unit for couple of years, and never seen one outside of Yahoo Auctions Japan, which is just way to expensive when adding shipping to Europe. 😐

Don't know what you're talking about, even with shipping costs and custom fees it will always be cheaper to get one at Yahoo Auctions than eBay or private sales. But take notice that VOGONS is not the right place for these kinds of threads. Try amibay.

Right, I wasn't really looking for a seller on here, more like what kind of experience people have with trying to get their hands on these old synth modules for retro gaming.

I'll check Amibay.

This forum thread is appropriate to the topic. Synth modules are of interest and show up from time to time:

A few years ago I got all my Roland MIDI stuff from those Yahoo Japan auctions. I was able to get everything within a few weeks, so that's my tip also 😀

I've had trouble finding a reliable looking intermediary web service, as I don't speak Japanese. 😀

Do you have any recommendations?

Took me a solid year to find a non-yellowed, perfect working CM-32L. Finally got one though...

Shopping Mall Japan is what I use (mostly not for electronics, but I've received some before and it was well-packed).

Also, you can copy the Japanese for searching off Wikipedia pages, e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roland_Corporation will get you ローランド instead of Roland.

I got mine from France for 30 euro. Then I got my brothers girlfriend (who is french) to buy it for me.

All my other Roland devices are bought from Japan. Even with shipping & fees (which isnt that crazy compared to US & AUS international shipping), it comes out way lower!

They're not that rare, just expensive.. I paid an amount that made me wince but rationalised it on the basis I'd only do it once. It did come perfectly packaged in the original box with all accessories, though!

A couple of weeks later there was a much cheaper CM32L elsewhere, and a CM500 for about 100 quid which was an absolute bargain.
