In setup.exe, if I try to enable any sound device, and I turn SVGA on, then when I load l3d.exe with VDMSound, it says
EFFECTS DRIVER ERROR - EFFECTS DISABLED

or

MUSIC DRIVER ERROR - MUSIC DISABLED

or both. Then it says
Press a key to start the game.

And it doesn't respond to any button pushing.

Now, if I go back to setup.exe, and turn SVGA off, then the same thing happens, except it DOES respond to button pushing. But the result is a black screen, and the only escape is alt+tab. Finally, if I set both sound and music to "none," then it doesn't give me any error messages, no matter what SVGA is set to. It just loads a black screen.

I've been able to get it to run in DOSBox, so I know what it's supposed to look like when it runs, but it's far too slow to be playable, even with ctrl+f8 and f12. Right now, my goal is to get the game working in VDMSound, whether sound or SVGA works or not. I'll worry about those later. Can anyone help me get it working?
