Okay, now I've been using dosbox since before 0.60, and I'll be up front.. Ive got a pretty old P3 500MHz. I understand that there are certain speed requirements..
BUT, in version 0.60 I had wonderful speed in the likes of the sierra vga games and so forth, but 0.61 seems to be REALLY slow!
I've tried different cpu types (dynamic, full etc..)
and all the scalers and drawing methods, but nothing really improves the situation.
Should I try the CVS? Or might I have to wait for the new version..?
I feel like a total newbie!

Strange, I use dosbox on a P III too and haven't noticed a decrease in speed between 0.60 and 0.61.
You could try copying the sdl.dll of the 0.60 version to the 0.61 folder.
Anyway, try the CVS it can't hurt you 😀

i've heard mention about sdl.dll before.. must be pretty important!

But yeh, it's wierd coz people have been talking about aiming to get most things fairly playable on a p2 even!
