I recently purchased this Sound blaster vibra16 sound card at a local flea market for $2. It is recognized in Windows 98s plug and play and drivers are installed but no sounds come out of it. It looks like it has a lot of missing components, does it?

Thanks

They are missing, but not removed. It's a model without amplified speaker output, it has only line level output.

Have you tried the reference drivers from Creative on a DOS bootup?

I believe the reason it doesn't work is the lack of an amplifier on it and me using some "Sound Blaster SBS30" passive speakers. 🤣 I'll find some powered ones and try it again.

Yes, that's logical. Passives will have output, but it will be extremely faint.

Or you could try plugging headphones in just to test if that's the actual problem 😉
