Hi everyone. I just got a motherboard (with tons of hardware), and this one came with a Cyrix 6x86MX PR266. The motherboard seems fine, but the CPU has a missing pin ... Is that normal on 6x86MX ? if not, does it matter ?

According to the diagram, the missing pin corresponds to one of the "VCC2" pins

The attachment cyrix.png is no longer available

Since there are multiple "VCC2" pins on the socket, does it matter if one of them is broken ?

There should be a pin at that spot. You can try soldering a new pin in place. As you mentioned, it might also work without it; I've ran several CPU's with a pin missing that just ran fine.

I reckon there is a good chance that the CPU will still work, unless the missing pin isn't the only issue.
If it's too hard to solder a pin you can solder a wire from the broken pin to a nearby good one.

Aren't all Vcc pins connected internally to each other? Same goes for Vss pins? I haven't checked enough CPUs to make a general statement in this regard, but I recall checking a few.

On the other hand, I broke a GND pin off of a chipset and not all the GND pins were connected internally. SO...
