Microsoft sidewinder gamepad on windows 98

This is a follow up to a thread I made not too long ago about getting a sidewinder 3d pro working on windows 98, this time, the device in question, the sidewinder gamepad. I tried to search around for a fix similar to the 3d pro, but no luck. Would anyone be able to help me out here?

You need to provide some additional information in order to get help with the gamepad. Microsoft sold a number of different SideWinder gamepads, some of which had a gameport interface, and some of which had a USB interface as you can see from the matrix on the Wikipedia page:

So exactly which version do you have, and what kind of error are you getting?

The Microsoft Game Controller Software (Version 3.02) that you are using for the SideWinder 3D Pro provides support for at least one or more of the early model gamepads, but later SideWinder devices required you to have a particular CD-ROM driver disc that installed drivers in addition to the Game Controller Software (Version 4 and later). You might check and see if VOGONSDrivers has any images or ISOs for your particular model.
