Hello. I do not speak English, but I have an interpreter so I'll try to get my message across to you. I have a non-working ILON M-209 card, which was described on your site as PCChips M209 286. I need a BIOS from this board. Can it be copied by the programmer or dump by the debug program? On the board of the microcircuit PCChips4L50F2052 + UMC UM82C206L. BIOS is needed from this "bundle" of chips. In reply I can copy bios from the Zenith ZMV-3926-GO or COMPAQ 386 card with the "islands map on the board" photo board

Hello, it looks like that your 286 motherboard has other issues than BIOS itself. What have you tried doing to make it work so far, does EPROM IC show signs of life?

The picture shows my "PC Chips M209" or what ever other name this motherboard goes under and it works perfectly! 😀

My motherboard is in storage now though so I can sadly not help with dumping the BIOS files. My storage units are very disorganized and finding a specific motherboard is near impossible.

I also have another brand new PC Chips M209 but it's also in storage.

(Yes I did remove the battery and clean the motherboard later. I only posted this picture to show how horrible the motherboard looked when I got it.)

New PC: i9 12900K @5GHz all cores @1.2v. MSI PRO Z690-A. 32GB DDR4 3600 CL14. 3070Ti.
Old PC: Dual Xeon X5690@4.6GHz, EVGA SR-2, 48GB DDR3R@2000MHz, Intel X25-M. GTX 980ti.
Older PC: K6-3+ 400@600MHz, PC-Chips M577, 256MB SDRAM, AWE64, Voodoo Banshee.

When the board got to me - I removed the bios chips and keyboard bios. And then washed and dried. I installed the chips in place, stuck the video card, keyboard and power supply. When turned on - the board did not give any signs of life .. In addition, the bios chip - started to get very hot. How to properly put the chip in the panel I know - there is a key and the panel has a key. But the chip was damaged. Then on the reverse side - I saw the inscribed labels with the voltage labels - the previous owner - tried to repair it .. Yes, in the first post I attached a photo from your own site. My board - completely coincides with the photo of this board. At us on forums - photos of similar boards with chips PCChips + Siemens or Siemens + OPTI flash. You can even find the firmware for the UMC UM82C206L chip, but what is the second chip "in bundle" - it is not specified. After recording such firmware on the W27C512 and installing this UV EPROM in the panel - the motherboard - also did not start. Most likely this firmware was for the PCChips + Siemens bundle, but I need the firmware for the PCChips + UMC bundle

Most of 286 motherboard BIOS are interchangeable, because they use similar/same chipset architecture. You can try all of these AMI BIOSes here, i'm sure you'll find some that will work with your motherboard http://chukaev.ru54.com/bios_en.htm#286.

I had similar problem as you, but I managed to insert EPROM the opposite way 😀. Found exact BIOS image on that site as my motherboard had, but it came from motherboard with Headland chipset, while i had VLSI.

2umm001.bin seems to be the best match for your motherboard there.

By the way, there is a chance that your EPROM is still readable, i managed to read mine, image was corrupted, but it was enough to figure out BIOS version and date.

That's right from this site I downloaded the firmware for the chip UMC 82C206L .. but what is the second chip on this site is not specified. The board with this firmware did not start. Now my chip UMC82C206L - is heated from the contact side 1. What can it be - the UMC chip burned out - or is it possible to heat the chip? And can the chip burn from the wrong firmware? I do not know how compatible these firmware are. In your case, HidLand came up to VLSI .. but what if I completely burn my UMC82C206L with this sort of firmware?
ps: That microchip bios - was an OTP-type. I'll look for her - it's difficult to look for a label with her now.

The question is, why did the EPROM start to heat up if Vcc and Vss pins were not swapped, maybe something is shorting on the motherboard and you get direct Vcc or Vss on control/address bus? Check EPROM socket with multimeter for shorts, same goes for UMC82C206L.

No, unless EPROM is non-standard or shorting in first place.

And what kind of contacts on the UMC 82C206L - pinning can lead to its heating? And OTP-chip ... I think that the previous owner mistakenly inserted the chip in the panel on the contrary and the chip burned out - that's why he was going to throw it away and I saw it and picked it up (I typed a whole bunch of "morally obsolete" on the whole box)). And when she launched it - saw that the board does not work.

Now it can be anything, that IC integrates at least 8 devices. You should first strip that motherboard of everything possible and only then begin looking for cause of its heating. Datasheet for 82C206: http://pdf.datasheetcatalog.com/datasheet/UMC/mXyztwsr.pdf.
