Hi:

First of all, forgive muy awful english.

I have an old PC, Inves WS-500S (spanish brand) that is working fine since 1991. It is an AMD 80286, with 4MB RAM, an SB compatible sound card, and a 40MB HD + 4GB one as slave. One 3,5 floppy and one 5,25 floppy.

Now, I want to upgrade the system with a ISA OAK VGA (16bit) and when I plug the card, system wont boot, and it beeps 1 short and 3 long (according to AMI bios is a video issue). Motherboard has a CHIPS VGA onboard and I supose that there is a conflict between internal and external VGA but I do not know how to disable onboard VGA. I see no options in BIOS to disable it
MOtherboard has a "PCB-208 v1.2" and is made in taiwean. All chips are from CHIPS (C&T) brand but I cannot find a jumpers guide (I supose there is a jumper that controls VGA)

Here are a few photos but. If someone can help I will be eternally gratefull.

Hi, may I ask what's wrong with the on-board VGA ? 😀
Missing drivers or VBE support, Windows, etc. ?

Hi!

onboard VGA has only 256kb so SVGA modes are missing. I'm just trying to enhance the system 😀

regards!
