One simple question: Does VDMSound emulate an SB AWE 32 ?

Is there any reason for AWE32 emulation for you?
Every game that have AWE32 support should also have General MIDI/ Sound Canvas/ SCC-1/ MPU-401 support which is actually the same.
Wouldn't the AWE32 have had better sound (if specifically driven) as it had the Wavetable device bolted on to it? I don't know anything technically about these things though...
If he has an SB Live or Audigy, he could just use VDMS with General MIDI and still benefit from the sound fonts.
Thanx for your reply. My old PC have an AWE 32 and the sound quality seems to be better than the emulated one on my new PC. The bad thing is, that this SB is an old ISA card, but my PC don't have a port for this. It seems i have to handle my old PC very well 😉
I didn't tested General MIDI. I'll give it a try.
Are there any adapters available to put a ISA-card into an PCI or AGP Port?
