I can get one for less than $10, but I already have a Celeron 1300 so the only benefit to me is if I can bet on hiting 133MHz FSB with it. I know 1000A can do it no sweat, but how about the 1100A?

Highly likely. Most tualies can do 1.5GHz+, and with good cooling and good luck your 1300 can prolly do 133FSB as well.
Really? Hm... Then I am really unlucky - mine won't even boot with FSB 133 🙁
My 1100A failed to do it. However, to my surprise the 1200A that I tried did do it (stable at 1600MHz).
In general I'd naturally assume the 1100A to have a higher success rate, but I have no idea what the % chance is. It's hard to judge from old internet posts because people tend to post successes more than failures, and some overclockers have flimsy standards for stability. But it's clear that a lot of people were doing it back then.
I don't know if there were multiple core steppings on these, but if there were, then try to figure out the stepping of the chip you're buying and try to get a later one.
For whatever it's worth, my 1100A (which failed the overclock) is an SL5VQ serial 7148A503-0246
It's all RNG. However, you stand a better chance with a later produced processor. If the seller has a picture of actual CPU, you can get the work week / year it was made.
One of my original setups with an Asus P3C-E / PC800 RDRAM / PowerLeap Slot-T / Celeron 1.2A @ 1.6 stock voltage / Stock HS+F. I'm trying to rebuild that, just need a P3C-E.
better check other things maybe its not the cpu holding back your overclock eg. ram pci cards etc etc
At 133fsb his ovi bus sould be witg in spec.
