Hi, I'm building a socket 7 machine. Sadly, I've sold every SuperSocket 7 board that I had, so I now have only 2 boards, both PCChips, one with an Ultron chipset, and the other (the chosen) has the Intel 430TX chipset, which has no AGP slot whatsoever. So I've wondering if it's possible to make an adapter for using AGP video cards on PCI slots. I have spare boards and video cards to make tests.

Here in Argentina seems to be rather difficult/expensive to get a PCI video card, especially if it has 3D support, like some low end fx 5200 or something similar. And most 2D have only 1MB, even the later ones, with the sockets unpopulated.

Thanks.

You would have to source the interposer chip and write the code yourself to make it work. It has been done with an AGP Voodoo5-5500 card.

However, the much easier method is to get a PCI to PCIe x1 adapter so you can use a PCIe card in a PCI slot.

You will also probably want a PCIe riser cable with a power hookup to make sure the video card gets enough power.

AGP to PCI adapters are out there. But they are very colstly and you would be better off woth a pci card or pcie to pci adapter.
