It probably just needs programming. If it was used with a TQS or WCS throttle
before you bought it, it may be programmed to work with the throttle instead of
by itself.

According to http://support.creative.com/kb/ShowArticle.aspx?sid=5790
the ct4740 is a Sound Blaster 16 PCI. I don't know if that makes any difference
to the joystick. I thought it was only ISA sound cards that were a problem.
Did your FLCS come with any documentation? Mine came with a card that mentions
installing "Thrustware" from the disk. The F-16 FLCS floppy that came with my
joystick was mangled (metal part torn halfway off) and unusable. However I
found a download at the web archive (flcs-ccc.exe) that seems to be the
contents of the floppy.
http://web.archive.org/web/20030303062156/htt … ks/exe/F16FLCS/
The label of the floppy says:
Thrustware F-16 FLCS
Command & Control Center
Installation Disk
Place in drive A or B
Type Install, follow directions.
The flcsrt200.exe file is mentioned under Support for the F16 FLCS at this
archived site
http://web.archive.org/web/19991006174716/htt … ystick/flcs.htm
and described as being for "If you
have a Pentium Pro or Pentium II and are experiencing runtime error problems,
Download the latest loader for the FLCS (which is the flcsrt200.exe file)
If your computer is older than a Pentium Pro, you don't need it.
There is also something called "Fox Two" from the Flyfoxy website that I've
seen recommended, and which is supposed to run in Windows.

Here are scans of the card that came with my FLCS.
