Jerky Playback?!

Hi board...

...I am trying to use VDMsound (the new beta version) to get Impulse Tracker 2.14 to work (an old music tracking programme) - and it does - sort of - the problem is that the sound playback is really jerky and chopped up as if my CPU couldn't handle it - the system I am working on is an Athlon XP 2600+ (Barton) w/ 512 MB PC 400 RAM and an S-ATA raid-0 array - finding it hard to believe that the system can't cope.. 😕

Anyone have any suggestions or maybe even a solution!?!?!

Yeah, just bring down the min/maxDMA periods to 5ms or less, and if that still has problems try to find better sound drivers (newer etc.) To change that you either use LaunchPad and do it from its properties, or you don't use Launchpad and alter VDMS.INI in VDMSound's directory instead.
