Hi guys. I've got a Tekram DC-680T VLB EIDE controller witch I'd like to use in my IBM PS/2 Valuepoint 486 to get over it's 800MB HDD size limit - but I can't seem to be able to get the darn thing to work.

When turning the machine on, I get either a "Controller registers failed!" or "Controller configuration error = 1" depending on how much ram I put on it. If I put no ram whatsoever in, It beeps (it has a speeker header) and I get error 1 again...

Does anyone have a manual for this thing? Has anyone used one before? Any help is appreciated.

Bank 0 must have RAM installed for the controller to work.

btw, hard disk size of those is limited to 4 gb.

Many thanks.

4Gb is great. I have a couple of 1.2 GB WD drives - one of those is fine for this machine. Apart from those, I have the 360mb drive the PS/2 came with, and a 540MB Quantum that is full of bad blocks...
