Any of you have a Commodore 64 system? If so, what are your favorite projects and/or mods that you'd like to do, or have done?

I have one myself, and the first project for me was to re-build the PSU, but I ended up buying a new one on eBay for over $60 (incl. S&H). Another project would be to either build a custom A/V cable, or install jacks on the side of the C64 (composite video, s-video, and audio out). Another plan for me would be to purchase a uIEC/SD Deluxe adapter, plus the IEC cable to connect to the system's serial/IEC/diskette drive DIN. How about you? Share your thoughts and ideas.

I think if you could improve GEOS somehow. Like adding more ram to the system and writing interesting programs for geos to make it more of an OS that be interesting.

The C64 demo scene is also very cool if you could programs some new interesting demos or write games that incorporated some elements from the demos.

Keyboard C64C so white keys
A custom side port panel in white ABS plastic
..and finished with a black crackle paint job...blue LED and New Commodore and Power silver escutcheons.

I have an C64 as well. I love that old thing. 😜 I am going to buy a new PSU, as I do not want the old one to take my system down when it fails. This is actually why I am not really using it. PSU's are not exactly cheap, so I will have to wait with using the system untill then.

I have bought one of the black SD2IEC adaptors, wich do not have wires. You just plug it into the back of the system. In the future, I am going to buy an Lumafix as well and I will buy one of them MP32C64 adaptors too. I have a real floppy drive, and yeah.... Floppy disks feel more real, though an SD2IEC are just so awesomme. Hard to choose what I like the best.

EDIT:
This is one of them SD2IEC that I have bought. Same model/look.

The C64 is endless fun, particularly with all of the amazing things that the community keep pumping out. I restored one a while back and my interest comes and goes, but it's always set up and ready to rock. Here's my thread which documents the projects I've done - might give you some ideas: Commodore 64 revival (warning, wall of pics)

Personally, my C64 project would be to actually find the damn thing! I've been searching all over the house and have found 2 PSUs, 3 boxes full of games, the datasette, 4 joysticks, composite cable & the RF cable, but no actual Commodore 64 computer. I know I haven't thrown it out, so this beast has got to be lurking about somewhere. I will find it, I'm determined. 🤣
