I recently restored an HP compaq nc6000.
There is a sticker on it which say ' designed for Microsoft Windows 2000 professional'
No hard drive and therefore no operating system.
I fitted an 80 gb 44 pin drive and installed Win2000 pro SP4 on it ..
all went well and it now has an operating system ..but of course no audio ..no video other than low res basic ..and no chipset drivers ..
So ..off I went to HP ..
entered the laptop type ..and OS ...and ..and ..
NOTHING
No drivers for your selection..
just out of curiosity I also tried XP ..
same result.
How on earth can I obtain what I need for this ..and from where ?
basically HP have stuck two fingers up at retro computers imo
