Good evening all, couldn’t find a hello section so... hello from the UK!
I’m doing a bit of work on a Toshiba Satellite 430CS and am currently trying to do a clean Windows install on it.
Unfortunately most of the keys on the keyboard are typing the wrong thing in both DOS and the copy of Win95 that’s on there... either strings of gibberish or just the wrong character.
Any ideas where to start troubleshooting this? I hope it’s not a hardware issue! BIOS has an option for “keyboard layout” - standard and alternative but I’ve tried both and neither work properly.
A PS/2 keyboard works just fine so I’m a bit puzzled with this one
- 486DX2-66, SoundBlaster 16, Crystal VLB graphics
- P-MMX 200MHZ, PCChips M598LMR, Voodoo 1, AD1816
- PIII 933MHz, MSI MS6119, Voodoo3 3000, SB Live!
- PIII 1400MHz, ECS P6IPAT, Voodoo5 5500, SB Audigy
