does anyone have any insight into this?
i think i may be trying to install with the wrong DE220 Variant driver collection?
ie: driver mismatch??

the card i have says on it: (on a white sticker stuck to the card)
Dlink-E220PCT(26)
SUPERCOM 02/18/98
624666

on the PCB:
DE-220P[C][T] REV-D2

i just found some new drivers here:
http://ftp.isu.edu.tw/pub/Hardware/nic/D-LINK/

i dont understand why im having such a hard time installing this stupid card
i have the de-250 in my 486.. and its drivers install in a snap! no problem!
this one gives me nothing but grief

could it be i require a later driver version?
the card does say it was a rev from a later date (1998)

Which operating system are you trying to install this under?

In any event, D-Link still has drivers for the DE220 on its website:
http://support.dlink.com.au/drivers/files/adapters/de220.htm

The latest (1999) download contains DOS (NDIS & packet driver), WFW3.x, Win9x, NT3.5, NT4, Netware, OS2 and a file saying Win2K has native support and doesn't need a driver.

I have several different DE220 cards in two main variants - the DE-220E combo card and DE-220C 10base2 coax card. In both cases, for DOS I first use the setup program (in the SETUP subdirectory)

CD \DRIVERS\NET\DE220
CD SETUP
SETUP

to program I/O and IRQ parameters to the card. This only has to be done when you wish to apply a change to the card setup as settings are stored on a small EEPROM. With that done, load the packet driver. I always have to disable JITI, but this might not universally be the case.

CD \DRIVERS\NET\DE220
CD PKTDRV
DE22XPD.COM 0x60 /JITIOFF

The directory structure should be the same, but the location where the drivers are unpacked may be different depending on your preference as may be the packet driver interrupt vector. Please adjust accordingly.
