Please forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong place or if the answer is right in front of my face, but I have looked and haven't found an answer to the following simple question.

I've just purchased a working MT-32. From what I'm aware of, there are no valid XP drivers for it, being that it's so old. Is "making use of" (trying not to mention any bad verbs here) the ROM and using MT-32 Emu the only means I have of getting DOS games to work with it properly, or can I, say, use VDMSound or dosbox to map the MT-32 sounds to a MIDI I/O and then have the MT-32 process them from there?

As I said, there might be a really straightforward answer, and I'm sorry if I'm posting in the incorrect forum, I just couldn't find the solution elsewhere.

Thanks.

You do not need any drivers for the MT-32. You just need to out put your MIDI signal to the MT-32 and connect the audio out from the MT-32 to the audio input of your sound card or an external amp. Also, be sure to set your MIDI out to MPU-401. Note that it might not be listed as MPU-401 (the Audigy lists it as "SB Audigy MIDI IO".)
