Hi!

I have got some older motherboards and they need -5V 0.5A

My questions: does anybody know where I can get some retro PSU with -5V? ¿ Is there currently any power supply manufacturer that it make PSU with that voltage?

Best regards

Are you sure you really need -5V? 😁

Startech makes a couple, you didn't mention if you need an AT or ATX one so here are both:

https://www.startech.com/Computer-Parts/PSUs/ … ply~PS2POWER230

https://www.startech.com/Computer-Parts/PSUs/ … ply~ATXPOWER300

Unfortunately, the ATX one provides 0.3A instead of 0.5A. What sound card do you want to run on your system?

Hi!
No sound card.

The mainboard needs -5V. I have another old PSU for my 486/Pentium class machines with -5V and it works properly with that PSU. I bought a new PSU, and It doesn't work. The new PSU hasn't got -5V line.

The mainboard needs -5V.

Doubtful.

my 486/Pentium class machine

Extremely doubtful.

There's two choices: ATX-AT adapter with -5v converter or new old stock ATX PSU version ATX 1.3 or less with simple ATX-AT adapter.

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.

You still won't tell us what motherboard you want to use this on. I find it hard to believe that the motherboard needs -5V, but okay. I imagine the Startech AT PSU will handle the job just fine .
