Im trying to install Windows 98se on a PC that has a Core 2 Quad Q6600 with 4GB Ram and a 512MB PCIE video card and I have made a 40 GB partition on a 250GB Sata HDD but when I use my original Windows 98se disk at boot and choose "Start Windows 98 Setup From CD-ROM" it does not load the driver for the DVD drive it says "No drives found, aborting installation." then after some loading it says "device driver not found: OEMCD001. No valid cdrom device drivers selected. The Windows 98 setup files were not found." I have tried two different Sata DVD Drives with the same results so Im guessing its because of the Sata drive or am I missing something?

What SATA mode is selected in the BIOS? You need to set it to emulate IDE (it's either called that or "legacy", depending on the BIOS). Do not select AHCI.

I already have it set to IDE the other option it had was RAID, I found this motherboards Bios was kind of limited with not many options I dont know if the limited Bios is from the fact its from a Dell Inspiron 530 or not but it does not have any IDE ports on the motherboard to test an IDE DVD drive with Win 98se
