Folks,

I need help with this, trying to connect a PS/2 Mouse to my retro - Win 98 computer but can't figure out the pin-out for this. Has anybody been able to get this to work. I rather use a PS/2 mouse versus a serial port mouse..

Thx,
Paul

pinout depends on mobo , tell us the model and maybe a valid pinout can be found - else it's trial and error.
A multimeter can help you find GND and +5v so it's only 2 more pins to decrypt , it's easy.

The PCChips M573 has one of these headers which I assume is for mouse.

Is this too much voodoo?

After some research, its an ASUS P5A-B Super 7 MB. Trying to plug into a COM port won't work, this MB has a USB, Infrared, PS/2 Mouse Module Connector (USB/MIR, 18-1 pin block). I'm going to play around with the pinout to see if I can get it to work now plugging into that block.

I was able to figure out the pinout for J1 on my M748MR. In the manual, the left and right pins are reversed, so here's the actual pinout in case anyone ever needs it.
However, I haven't found any information on the JP10 and don't have the electronics knowledge to test them.
