I just got System Shock 2 from my roommate, and we were trying it on Windows 2000 systems. Now my system is a lot newer than his.

He got it running fine.

Now mine runs fine. I can bind everything, it all works, except:

Everything is way too fast, except the sound. If I touch forward I'm already hitting a wall. It's bizarre.

My specs are:

Windows 2000 Professional
Asus A7N8X-E MB
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128 "iceQ"
SoundBlaster Live! 5.1
1gig of PC3200 DDR400 RAM.

Any help would be great, thanks!

runs fine on my new box too. Only problem is then install which can be bypassed. I dont think the patch should have anything to do with the OS though, but maybe it could help. Atleast it's just the only patch for the game that adds multiplayer and stuff and fixes some bugs.

Mine had the same problem, but all you have to do is turn VSYNC on. That'll fix you right up. =)
