Is there a such thing as a PS/2 only switch I could find cheaply (ebay, amazon, newegg)? I don't need monitor or mouse switching, just would like to use a single ps/2 keyboard on two machines to save a bit of space. Only caveat is one of the machines is AT, but I think a ps/2 to AT adapter (which i have laying around) would be just fine.

If I go the KVM route, I'm afraid I'll have to also buy a DVI to VGA adapter to include the pentium 3 machine on the switch, which is totally unnecessary as my monitor auto switches between it's inputs.

You will have to have the machine you are switching to powered off before switching because PS/2 is not a hot-plug interface.

The good thing about a digital KVM is that it can keep the connection live when switching between systems.

Many digital KVM switches lets you switch keyboard only with some other key combination too, might be a better option than a simple switch. Find some models and look through the manuals to see if it's possible.

Yep, a PS/2 to AT adapter will work fine, protocol wise AT and PS/2 are the same thing.

They're usually switched with SCRLCK+1, SCRLCK+1, etc. As they're powered via the PS/2 keyboard port, this should be an applicable option for you.

If you can find a cheap kvm, you could still get that and just not attach the mouse or screen.
