Does anyone know how to install the Generic PC Gaming Wireless Receiver on a Windows XP Machine? I dont have the original driver disk and I cannot find the drivers online. All the ones I have tried fail, including a video where a guy says he has the files for download, but when you download and try to install to the Generic USB Device Windows XP sees, it wont install.

Really would like to get my XBOX 360 Controller working on here as my wired XBOX One USB Controller isnt picked up when plugged into USB, PC never recognizes anything attached....it works fine on Windows 7 machine.

Hmm, I'm 99% sure the USB wireless receiver for the Xbox 360 controller worked right out of the box in XP Pro SP3. Just plugged it in if I remember it right, was a while ago now though.

If you got a spare HDD, you could always try doing a fresh XP install and see if it works better.

It sees it as a Generic USB Device. I downloaded and installed the XBOX Accessories 1.2 software, which is supposed to help it connect but it still wont install as it doesnt like the driver apparently in the XBOX Accessories. I can try it on a fresh XP Install next.
