Some time ago I posted about my 486 SBC I am going to use in my Amiga 2000 to save space.
Did manage to get it running, and fix the fuse issue, that made the keyboard/mouse not work.

It now works apart from getting battery errors every time I boot, and also have to make changes in bios every time power is off.
This is really inconvenient.

So got myself some 12B887, but as I didn't have the right tools, I sort of bodged that one.
See more on why below.

Got a few 12C887, from China, that should work, but when installed on the board (it's now has a socket) battery still not found.

So had a new go at it. and discovered that pins on the 12887 are not the same as the 12B/C887

As I had ruined one of them anyway, I decided to keep going to see what it looked like.

As can be seen from the pictures the minus in on top, and plus on the bottom.
At some point the battery itself came of, and underneath it says Odin.

Guess they make the electronics for it.

So any ideas on how to make this working again.

Do anyone know what pins is '+' and what is '-'.
If so, it should be possible to disconnect the 'tap' , and connect a wire to '+'.
Tried to measure, but don't really get anything on my meter.

I have looked at guides, and what I tried to point out, the 12887 and 12B/C887 have not the same layout.

Had a hard time getting good picture, but look at the new one I tried to mod.

There is nothing at the "missing" pins. The metal you see is the actual pins.

I revived a RTC last week : http://www.tmeeco.eu/BitShit/PCschit/RTCfix.jpg

Looks like you're not reaching the hidden pins in the gaps.

I prefer this solution nowdays - at least for boards that are good and I'll keep: https://oshpark.com/shared_projects/qyNfzAMf

Tried another one, and do reach metal between the three pins, but between three, and the two pins, there is nothing.

I went a bit deeper than on where I found metal, and still nothing.
Pictures I took didn't show how far I went, as quality isn't good enough.

Will look into the PCB, and if cost not to bad, I think I go for that.
