Was wondering what would be the best card to go along with a PCI version of Voodoo 5 5500? Currently I have a GeForce 6800 Ultra but it has issues. Would a Radeon X850XT PE that's sitting in my closet work better, or a Radeon 9700 Pro? I think for older games the V5 is quite enough but it's newer stuff (for the time) that I want to keep a fast AGP card for to play with high AA and resolution settings. This is on a Windows 98SE system with a Tualatin 1.4GHz.

How about a member of the Geforce FX 5900 family ?

Radeons seem like a great option, since you have the V5 to fall back on for any legacy features.

That CPU (with SDRAM I assume) is going to severely bottleneck any high end GPU made after 2002, though it will depend on the game. I wouldn't bother with anything past the FX series, as that will maintain better compatibility with the older titles that the P3 will run best on.

Now for some blitting from the back buffer.
